Authorize.Net will assist BigCommerce in finding a payment gateway site. Because of its complex infrastructure and protection, transaction data can be transmitted quickly, reliably, and safely. It performs transaction routing in a similar way to a conventional card swipe machine, but without the need for the user to install or execute software because it operates online. Authorize.Net provides merchants with a stable and flexible platform as well as the ability to securely accept payments, allowing them to control their company and protect themselves from fraud. Transaction control, account setting setup, report generation, and account statement viewing are some of the other things Authorize.Net can do.

Therefore, in this article, we will show you clearly How to integrate BigCommerce with Authorize.Net .

What is Authorize.net?

Authorize.Net is a payment portal that automatically allows small and medium-sized online retailers to accept credit card and electronic check payments from websites and deposit funds into their merchant bank account. Authorize.net is trusted by more than 305,000 retailers for payment processing and online fraud prevention.

Allow retail payments/in-person payments by connecting a compatible card reader to an existing machine or accept payments on the go via a mobile device. Authorize.Net also handles payments for a number of third-party point-of-sale systems that have been pre-integrated.

Accept payments via mail order/telephone order, and manually send transactions using Authorize.online Net’s virtual terminal. This feature is perfect for merchants who accept orders from customers via mail or phone.

Benefits of integrating BigCommerce with Authorize.net

The key advantage of Authorize.Net is the wide range of payment options it provides. Customers can pay with credit cards, electronic checks, or direct deposits, and the money would be deposited into the merchant’s bank account automatically. There are dozens of third-party Point of Sale (POS) solutions pre-integrated with the app, as well as a Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS) solution. Both of these choices are suitable for retail establishments.

Authorize.virtual Net’s terminal can be used by businesses that accept mail and phone orders from their customers. There is also a free mobile app for the site that accepts mobile transactions. Thanks to the electronic payment check system that is proprietary and completely incorporated to Authorize.Net, check payments can be processed through an Authorize.Net Virtual Terminal or even the user’s own website.

PCI DSS enforcement is also streamlined, as is the payment mechanism for returning customers and recurring transactions. The safe servers of Authorize.Net can also store confidential payment information, which is tokenized by the platform’s Customer Information Manager (CIM). The platform’s Advanced Fraud Detection Suite also detects, manages, and prevents fraudulent transactions from causing problems.

All payment forms, including the default gateway, offline (in-store) payment methods, additional online methods, and digital wallets, will be accessible from the payments tab.

Go to the “store setup” tab in the left sidebar of your BigCommerce dashboard and click “payments”

Step 2: Choose “Online Payment Methods” from the drop-down menu.

When you select this tab, a drop-down menu will appear with an alphabetical list of all the payment gateways and online processors that BigCommerce supports, including Authorize.Net.

Choose "Online Payment Methods" from the drop-down menu

Step 3: Locate the Authorize.Net line and press the far-right “Set Up” button.

This will take you to the Authorize.Net configuration tab. The setup process starts when you click “get started now.” BigCommerce will provide you with step-by-step guidance and prompt you to enter the necessary details to associate your Authorize.Net account.

The following information is needed to set up Authorize.Net payments with your BigCommerce store:

Display Name: The payment method’s show name specifies how it will look during checkout. You can keep it as “Authorize.Net,” but it’s recommended that you change it to “credit/debit” to give your customers more clarity.

Merchant ID: This is the merchant account’s identifier. This ID would have been allocated by Authorize.Net or by the merchant account provider for companies with their own outside merchant accounts that have been set up to integrate with Authorize.Net.

Username/ Password: To keep the link working, you’ll need to log in to Authorize.Net. If your login information is incorrect, your transaction will fail when you try to pay.

Transaction Key: It may be appropriate to produce a new transaction key if there are errors during checkout. Authorize.merchant Net’s portal allows you to do so.

If your account is set up, you can modify or control your settings at any time using the Authorize.Net panel, and you can even access the Authorize.Net merchant portal directly from BigCommerce if your login information is right.
